Pace has always been a dreamer, even when sent to Camp Draufgänger-Töter. But recently his dreams have felt even realer than life. He would call it a relief from the horror he lives every day if they didn’t detail his death. Every day that passes feels closer to death and farther from the truth of his unusual abilities. The day comes when Pace graduates camp and begins the final steps to his nightmares and the truths they hold. Trudging through daily survival Pace creates a group of boys with similar questions, until they’ve cut themselves a peaceful existence away from the politics of the capital. Just as Pace begins to relax his guard and the dreams lessen his world is turned upside down and he finds himself a leader of a rebellion. Marching on the capital is their last hope to protect everyone with purple tinged blood. But will that be enough to end his dreams?
